Winterlicious 2011 at Kultura

This is a bit of a late post, but I feel almost obliged to share my Wintelicious experience at the Kultura restaurant on King East. I took my mom and a few of her girlfriends for a nice dinner downtown and got a ton of compliments on my choice of venue. Everyone simply loved the location, decor, and most of all the menu!

The Great Italian - Vaticano Restaurant

I’ve always wanted to try a different type of Italian cuisine and this years' Winterlicious gave me a great opportunity to experience Vaticano, a fine-dining restaurant in the heart of  Yorkville. For $20 I got to savor a variety of rustic Italian dishes prepared to perfection by the restaurants’ executive chef Felice Vacca.

Another Word For Pink

Something beautiful is being made

A few months ago, I came across a marvelous site. Initially, I thought it was another aspiring young designer showcasing her work, but I soon realized that her site offers much more!  All her products are available for custom made-to-measure orders with free shipping across Toronto and very reasonable Canada-wide and international rates. Prices were another pleasant surprise – the average order is a little over $100! I was just about to buy myself a beautiful blue floral print dress from the Autumn ’10 capsule collection, when it occurred to me that I would love to meet the designer first and learn more about the brand.

Naco Gallery and Cafe - my new fave spot on Dundas West

I recently had a pleasure of meeting Julian – the owner of the Naco Gallery and Cafe. Located on south side of Dundas West, close to Lansdowne Avenue, the cafe is easily one of the nicest spots on the street. The decor is interesting and ever-evolving with a few regular art objects created by the owner himself. Julian is a visual artist with a rich cultural background and unique experiences. One of his works that is featured at Naco is about his journey to Canada and his transformation in the Canadian society.

I am not that crazy about their boots (both pairs I bought had holes in just a few months), but I truly love
Tretorns' homepage image.

IDS 11. Review in Pictures

18 karat. Images by kk.
IDS offered free passes for the industry if you registered by a certain day. Not being quite the industry, I enjoyed my free admission and a less crowded space on a Professional Trade Day. Having only two hours left before closing I did my quick but thorough round.
